Overton has a large, 342-acre public park containing the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis Zoo, a 9-hole golf course, the Memphis College of Art, Rainbow Lake, Veterans Plaza, the Greensward, and other features such as the Old Forest Arboretum. Overton Park was established in 1906 and was named for the co-founder of Memphis, John Overton.
